Pufferbilly Days Photo Contest - 2022

My friend Chris is the Superintendent of the Pufferbilly Days Photo Contest. (He does not judge, and the judging is blind, so it's not rigged or anything.) Anyway - he has joked to me a couple of times, "You literally could not have done any better in this Pufferbilly Days." And I feel suuuuuuuper braggy to say it, but he's not wrong! I was REALLY lucky to take first in every class I was in, as well as second if there were more than one of my photos in a class. I also was really lucky to get 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall. I could have gotten People's Choice, but the gal who did had round-the-clock voting from multiple people, and that is way more energy than I have now or ever!

This is the last year in which I participated as a contestant, because Chris implemented a system in which the "Best in Show" entry becomes judge for the next two years. So, I've been incredibly lucky to be judge for the past two years... and that is some hard work! Not physically or anything, it is just so hard to judge others' art!

Anyway. On to the entries.

Best-in-Show, 1st Place Nature, Adult 1st Place Overall:

Title: Pismo Beach Beauty. Best-In-Show, 1st Place Nature, 1st Place Adult Overall. The only time I've ever used a photo in two photo contests was reusing this in 2022 at State Fair.

2nd Place Overall, 1st Place People:

Title: The Art In Nature. 2nd Place Overall, 1st Place People. I'm sure my family considers it worth it that they had to wait for me to take photos of a rando while hiking in Yosemite.

3rd Place Overall, 1st Place in Trains, Planes, & Automobiles:

Title: La Vita Dolce. 3rd Place Overall, 1st Place Trains, Planes, & Automobiles. This was at Campo Fiori in Rome. Which wasn't germane to the category, but it definitely gives context to the photo.

1st Place - Hidden Treasures of Boone County:

Title: Through the Wires of Pilot Mound. 1st Place - Hidden Treasures of Boone County. I like the photo, but I may have taken a little liberty with the theme.

1st Place - Black-and-White:

Title: Zebra Park. 1st Place - Black-and-White. I'm not actually sure what that title means, other than that the tree has stripes? It's in Curacao. I guess I did submit this to State Fair the year before, so I lied above, I've submitted the same thing multiple times twice.

2nd Place - People:

Title: Good Sports. 2nd Place - People. This was taken during a flag football game when our poor team was just getting destroyed, so the title is apt.

I'll be most likely entering again this year, because it's just a fun contest!
